BOB SWENSON'S PRESIDENT’S LETTER MARCH 19, 2009

Welcome to the Walton County Snowbird Web Site 

It is hard to believe that the 2008 – 2009 Snowbird Season has come to an end. Walton County Snowbirds had fun in the wonderful Florida sunshine, while reading about the snow piling up at home.  Many of us go home just to rest up for the next year.  Our thanks goes out to Viveck Likhite and Michael Serniuk for their outstanding leadership this past season. 

The good news is that your new board has already started planning for the 2009-2010 Season, and it is shaping up to be another great year.  New members of the Board are Nancy Gehrke as 1^st V.P and Tom Mahar as Information Officer. We are excited to have Nancy’s creative and talented perspective and Tom’s expertise in creative writing providing a fresh new approach to our weekly newsletters, describing our many activities.  These articles will appear here on our web site and in local newspapers. Donna Bruder is serving another year as Secretary, Betty Cardwell, as treasurer, Eunice Collins as 2^nd V.P, and Vivek Likhite will be Past President. 

For those of you visiting our Web Site for the first time, be sure to check out all the many activities that are available to Walton County Snowbirds.  If there is an activity that you would like to see us offer, and you are willing to be chairperson for that activity, we will do everything we can to accommodate you.  We always have need for volunteers to help with meetings, registration and activities. So please consider doing your part to help our great organization continue to prosper, and have lots of fun while doing so.  Please feel free to contact any one of the board members with your suggestions. 

We are looking forward to seeing all of you next season, but in the meantime, have a wonderful summer.
