2010-2011 Recipients

John H. B. Harrison Jr. $1000  Attending Santa Fe College, Gainsville, Fl.

Lucy Livingston  $500  Tisch School of Arts at New York University

Chloe Fugate $500   Attending New York University

Dear Walton Snowbirds,

Thank you for your scholarship to me.  I am truly honored and gratified that I was chosen by your organization.

My high school career at South Walton High School was filled with many opportunities of learning, participating in sports, clubs, and community activities.  It is through these many events that I developed a true love and loyalty for my local community.

During my college career and forward, I plan to always get involved in my local community through school, sports, clubs, and church.  I believe that a truly happy person is one who gives of himself and derives inner peace and satisfaction from involvement with others.

Thank you again for your generous scholarship.  I am starting my college career at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida, and plan to finish my associate degree there, and then transfer to the University of Florida, where I plan to complete my bachelor’s degree.  I hope to be an active member of the Gainesville community.  Your scholarship will help me pay for books and housing at the beginning of my college career.

Thank you again,

 Sincerely yours,

John H.B. Harrison, Jr.

Dear Walton County Snowbirds,

My name is Lucy Livingston from South Walton High School, and I just received your scholarship! I just wanted to thank you so much for your generous gift. In the fall I will be studying acting at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, and I cannot wait to put your scholarship towards my tuition. This really is a blessing, and my family is very grateful as well. When I fly to New York, I will be thinking of y'all on the plane, and how your scholarship helped make my dream a reality.

Thank you with all my heart,
Lucy Livingston
